What's New?
Diabetic education is
available on-site. Any interested person with
diabetes can now schedule an appointment with our on
site diabetic educator at City Line Family Medicine. A
certified diabetic educator will be conducting both
individual and group sessions on diabetic education. Ask our front desk for more
information regarding scheduling.
We're going electronic. That's right.
City Line Family Medicine has initiated the process of implementing an
electronic health record. In time, the rows and rows of numerous paper
patient files located behind our front desk will begin to disappear.
Don't worry though, all of your medical records are being saved in an
electronic format. However, because of the large size of our practice,
the transition is likely to be lengthy and, at times, slow. We
understand these bumps in the road may result in some inconveniences to
our patients and, therefore, are making every effort to minimize these
occurrences. Upon completion, we believe the transition to an electronic
health record will significantly enhance the quality of care we can
provide to our patients. City Line Family Medicine greatly appreciates
your selection of our office and staff to provide you with medical care
and look forward to continuing to do so in our electronic future.
Here are a few benefits of
an electronic health record:
-
electronic prescription
submission - so if your pharmacy is efficient, your
prescription will be ready by the time you get to
the pharmacy. And no more worrying about losing your
prescription.
-
electronic submission of
lab orders - again, eliminating the worry about
losing your lab slip. With a simple press of a
button your lab slip is sent to the lab waiting for
your arrival.
-
automatic monitoring for
drug to drug interactions, drug to allergy
interactions and drug to disease interactions -
means that you can safely take the prescribed
medication knowing that every measure has been taken
to reduce the likelihood of a potential drug
interaction.
The lines of communication are expanding.
Recently, City Line Family Medicine has embarked upon establishing a
novel method of communicating with our office. Not novel in the sense
it's a new technology. Just new for us. The office is now accepting
non-urgent text messages and voicemails (484-429-9141) as a way to allow
patients easier communication access. We understand our phones can be
frustrating and have elected, on a trial basis, to open the lines of
communication with our patients. Our hope is that, by allowing patients
multiple alternative methods to contact the office for routine,
non-urgent issues, that the phone lines will be more accessible to those
with more pressing matters. With your help, this can work. All we are
asking is that for non-urgent issues, when possible, try contacting us
through our website or our non-urgent text message and voicemail service
and save the phone lines for those in need. Although text messages can
be submitted 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, any text
message submitted after 4:30 pm on Monday through Friday
may not be replied to until the next business day.
Therefore, please do not use this service for urgent
issues requiring a prompt response. Depending on your calling/texting
plan, charges may apply. We appreciate your cooperation in making our
office better.
Please read the information about this new service on our
FAQ's web page.
